sami, a good way to learn both jekyll and as how it gets along and relates with CSS and HTML is to look at the source for the jekyllrb.com site. the source for the site is in the "sites" directory. can see how they did it. resize the browser on jekyllrb.com. resizes based on screen size. there's your example and potential starting point.
