if that repo is added as remote, usually named "upstream" you can simply run git fetch upstream
+ [2017-01-22T00:02:50Z] HaroldFly I'm new to github. I've downloaded the windows app and have forked a repo but I'm not sure I quite understand how to sync. I thought forking was grabbing my own copy, but when I sync it appears to be syncing to the owners copy and thus I do not have permissions.
