interestingly, running the install manually (using the first command from that page) works correctly, not sure why bundler thinks it needs authentication

quick question - i'm trying to use github's ruby package hosting, i've published a public package, but when trying to use it, i get the error "Authentication is required for rubygems.pkg.github.com."

i'd love to know how github support svn clients, i assume it's a totally proprietary server

"git reset HEAD^" will take you back one commit, you need to go back 2 commits, so run it twice, then you should be at the point before the first commit, you can remove the files and do the commit again without them

jhass is probably right, git reset just the 2 latest revisions will be enough

it deals with removing sensitive data, but can similarly be used to remove large files from the history
