so now my branch A, I want to try again, but if I try creating a pull request to merge A into master, it tells me it's up to date. But that's impossible because master has the revert of A

ok, so branch A, I merged it into master, and all hell broke loose. I created a revert, and merged that into master, and now everything is fine.
