when I visit the page on github, I clicked clone, clicked on open in Gitbrowser or whatever. It now is listed in my github desktop app on the left under Github, but I cant see any of the files, any of the source code, etc

if there is a project on github that I want to download, make some changes to, and submitt that back into the project .. and im using the windows desktop version of git .. how do I go about pulling it down into my computer to work with?
