basically, what's the command to serve and watch and reload on changes in 2.5.1?

i'm having an issue. jekyll serve compiles my site to the serve directory. jekyll --serve runs the dev server. --watch isn't valid, yet the docs say otherwise v2.5.1 even though jekyll -v says 0.12.1.
