I'm having this problem: https://help.github.com/articles/error-permission-to-user-repo-denied-to-user-other-repo/ But ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub is already copied onto the account I am trying to push to.

asking again in case any newcomers know: Was there ever a thing on your personal profile that mentioned what languages you've contributed in? I seem to recall there being a thing like that. Like if you've contributed to a lot of Python projects and a lot of Ruby projects, it would say "Python, Ruby" somewhere on your profile.

I'm thinking I'll just shoot my old boss a quick e-mail before I do anything "public"

Also smal detail, I did not leave that job in the best standing, though any negative energy was not related to the quality of my work. And let's just leave it at that.

Now, would it be weird if I submitted pull request(s) for that project? I guess what I fear is that it would look like I am trying to get re-hired or something.

Here's an etiquette question: Would it be weird to fork the repo of the project I was working on at my old job? On one hand, it's a publicly available open source repo on github licensed under the GPL, so at the bare minimum, I am in the clear legally.

Yeah ok. Sorry if I wasn't clear, my question is if it's possible to do that without clicking fork in the github interface.

That doesn't add the little subtitle that says it was a fork with a link to the original repo

if I clone someone else's repo, and then I want to push it up to my profile, will it automatically be specified as a fork of the original repo, or is there something else I need to do, or is there no way to specify a repo as a fork unless you hit the fork button in the browser?
