The only concern becomes your emplyees accounts. Make them secure and define privileges. Also watch the audit logs (to know what happens inside your organization).

The past companies I worked at all had their private repos on GitHub. I am aware of no past issue about it. You could of course host them yourself but I believe GitHub does its jobs pretty well (probably better) than us (me) at that.
