rather a question for a network group than github, fired up a VPS on digitalocean and cloning from there was 15MiB/s

already ruled out firewall problem, no https inspection used and iperf tests show full speed

hi, where to start looking if git clone for a large repository is extreamly slow ( iperf test 500Mbps from EU to USA - iperf.he.net, no problems )
