Well, if you fetch it from the tags, the tag may have been created well before the release I guess, so that may be a special case to handle, if there's no creation date for the release

First thing which comes to mind is to curl for releases and store then then notify if changed but I am curious maybe github does have some sort of api which could notify a webhook or something ?
