is there a way to turn off syntax highlighting? there are some issues with the coloring and it's easier to just turn it off

does the email need a different thing to demarcate code?

sorta dumb question: suppose someone replies to an issue with an email, but forgets the backticks around code. Later on, in the github UI, the comment is edited and the backticks are added. For some reason, it seems that github isnt treating the phrase as code
