Little bit of a background. I have a core code that every project always uses. So I want the core files to be either a submodule or a subtree

But the problem I have is, I added the submodule on the branch I was actively working. pushed it to the server, checked out the release branch and the submodule folder was still showing up. Even though the release branch should not have this submodule

I want to add a submodule to a branch. Push it to the server. And after testing being able to merge this branch into the release branch. Basically like a new folder with files
